Will UCSD give me priority if I have completed 4 classes at a San Diego community college?

Ok so my college journey has been pretty hectic. During high school I completed several classes at a local community college (Ventura College). After graduating high school I moved to Orange County where I attended Orange Coast College for a year. I am currently living in Santa Barbara and attending Santa Barbara City College. So I have classes completed from all 3 schools.

I really want to move to San Diego. I know the schools down there (UCSD, SDSU) take preference to students from local community colleges. If I move to San Diego and complete my remaining classes (only about 4 classes) at a San Diego community college, will I get the preference for coming from a local school? Or would I have to complete most of my classes at a local school? Any help is greatly appreciated.

FYI not sure if this is relevant but my major is Economics.

Unlike CSUs, UCs general give no ‘local’ preference. Assuming no change in your academic performance (and ECs) the move will neither help nor hurt.

@NCalRent is right, with the exception of UCSD’s UniversityLink program. You can check if you would qualify at http://admissions.ucsd.edu/transfers/prep-programs/university-link.html
