I THINK that the score should be there in time, however, you may have to send the score directly i.e. when you are actually taking the test, you have to fill out the school code to send the score directly. This means that you will NOT get to see your score before you send it.
I AM NOT 100% positive about this, so your best bet would be to check UMD’s admissions web page. Somewhere in there, there should be an FAQ or test policy section that further explains when you must take your tests.
Someone from the admissions office did a visit and told us that October SAT scores should most likely be there in time, but to send scores from an earlier date, just in case. I don’t remember if Maryland required all scores, but they super scored it.
But what b3jh24 said is correct, send the scores directly either by entering the school code before you take the test OR do it online - they allow you to indicate what schools you want your scores sent to directly (which is what I did).
UMD does require all scores and if they don’t have at least one set of scores by the priority deadline, then your application is not evaluated until the RD date. UMD requires ALL application related documents by Nov 1 for EA consideration.
ive already taken the jan and may SAT… but if i need to i will take it in oct
Good plan, just make sure UMD has some scores by Nov 1. The Oct ones should make it but send the others anyway before then. College Board knows that UMD wants all scores and it sends all scores. UMD also superscores your SATs, so nothing is really lost.
