Will unfair course weight make much of a difference?

I’m currently a sophomore in high school and am taking and getting all As in the toughest course load possible, or so I thought. I didn’t realize this before, but my language course is weighted so that an A in this course will be like a B in another course. The way this happened was that the administration of the schools changed the system of classes in high schools and middle schools and let 9th grade go to high school (it was previously a middle school grade). Somehow, this caused people in my sophomore year to be able to be in Spanish 2 in their freshman year and Honors Spanish 3 in sophomore year. I took Spanish 1 in 8th grade (my sophomore year is the only grade that this will happen to) and didn’t really like it. I decided to take Latin 1 as a freshman, since I heard it was more challenging, fun, and helps on SATs along with learning other languages and improving vocabulary (which is all true). Right now I’m in Accelerated Latin 2, which is a 6 weight course (we have weight multipliers to balance the hardness of the course with the GPA) and most people who are competitive and taking challenging courses like me are in Spanish, French, or German 3, an Honors 8 weight course. Compared to them, my A is a B. I know I probably sound paranoid and probably shouldn’t even worry at all, but there is so much competition to get into a good college (I like Princeton and will probably apply) these days. One B in my school could possibly make a large difference in rank. Will this make much of a difference in acceptance to a highly selective college? I’m hoping that readers of my application will notice my special case with a language course (they could hypothetically see a straight A transcript-I hope-and be curious as to why my rank is lower than it should be) and may even look favorably upon it (I am the only sophomore in my school in this class, and I have to take a shuttle bus to the other high school in the district because of low enrollment, so I’m doing very well despite these disadvantages). I’m probably making a bigger deal out of this than I should be, but I just need some reassurance, and my school kind of screwed me here. An answer to this would be great. So will unfair course weight make much of a difference here?

firstly, learn to use paragraphs!

secondly, I’m just going to confirm what you already think by saying that it’s really not a big deal. Your counselor WILL check “hardest courseload” on the app. If you’re still worried, consult your counselor. Honestly, don’t worry about it!

thanks (and I will use paragraphs in the future- I usually do).

Yea sorry I can’t read that…

don’t worry. if you’re really paranoid about your future rank, your gc can always write a letter of explanation.

Yea and I’m sure colleges know that some courses are harder and such. You’re only a sophomore? Shooo
