so Penn thinks you are taking BC calc but you are taking AB calc? I suspect this happens all the time, intentionally or not, but it is dishonest and I wish students were in fact held accountable for it.

Sometimes they are.
The change from the higher-level calc course will make a bigger difference if you applied to Wharton or SEAS. Of course, not correcting your academic record will be a problem regardless.
