Williams College Class of 2028 Official Thread

rly depends on ur major

I’m thinking of CS for both schools?

def gatech

didn’t the deadline pass?

I had already committed to Tech a few days ago. got the deposit waived just in case smth like this would happen

I would review the faculty profiles and course listing for both departments and look at the major requirements.

They are so different. I would post this as its own thread to see what others think. I know my S who is attending Williams (math/CS/economics) would not enjoy the GT even though it is an amazing school.

Congratulations, some how I misunderstood, I thought you were saying you would 100% commit if taken off the waitlist.

Here is the latest on the encampment, the students have taken it down and graduation will proceed without interruption.

Encampment ends, Board of Trustees commits to two meetings with SJP, J4J – The Williams Record

Received this some minutes ago…

Dear Gabriela,

Thank you for your patience and continued interest in Williams over the last couple of months. I’m writing to let you know that we will not have the opportunity to admit any additional students to the Williams Class of 2028.

I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Sulgi Lim
Director of Admission
Williams College

same here :frowning:

I really had hopes. But it’s okay, something better will come ahead.

but still disappointed :pensive:

same here

Any thoughts on ephadventure choices for kids not interested in the WOOLF options (he loves to hike and be outside but no bathroom and eating in the woods for three days is a hard no for him)

I’m pretty sure that some of the WOOLF options offer sleeping at an outdoor rec center. My Eph did Art in the Outdoors. There were day hikes and they slept at an outdoor center. It was a fantastic experience.

There is a day trip option but it is a full day outdoors and then sleeping in the dorm. He is not interested in full days outside

Has there already been communication from Williams saying incoming students need to choose at this point? We haven’t heard this from our kid, so I’m wondering if an email got missed, etc. Thanks!
