Williams College Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

Agreed once there are acceptances for sure. That makes sense

Once the kids are accepted it makes sense to post stats but for now it is for what we have been doing. Info, discussion about the school, dates. Trying to keep teenagers calm. And I am happy to post my son’s info. If you check my profile it is posted in other threads.

And stats are taken in the context of that candidate’s school, community, etc. There are so many factors involved beyond the control of any individual candidate.

like i said before, it’s about filling buckets. most the students that apply are qualified, but they have to build a class. maybe they just graduated a shortstop baseball player, so they accept another one for their incoming class.

I am so impressed by your maturity in this thread. Can’t wait to see where you wind up!

Thank you! My mom said she is so proud of me for not seeing this as personal. She said so many parents are crazy stressed when they’re talking to her, and I know their kids are too! She actually asked me if we weren’t stressed enough . I see it as a good thing. Many people told me they haven’t slept for the past month because of D15. Sometimes I think I should be more stressed……

The fact that your kid does not know that today is the day speaks wonders about her mental health and the health of her environment. She has clearly put the college process into its proper place. And she is apparently also surrounded by adults and peers who have done the same. This all bodes well for her future, no matter where she ends up!

S24 has definitely been surrounded by college talk at school and has been aware of this date for a week. And we have probably talked about it too much as a family as well. He seems to have convinced himself that he will not be admitted, which is probably not the worst coping strategy. While Williams is his first choice, he is almost equally excited about several other schools in his list, so I think he will be fine with a ā€œno.ā€ The biggest downside/disappointment would be that he would have to write a whole bunch of additional essays, which is not something he enjoys.

Appreciate it!

This describes me right now to a tea .

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. I don’t want to write more supplements. I just want to focus on running and schoolwork.

Has anyone gotten anything or know about the time?

4 years ago it was 6PM eastern time.

S24 was rejected. The silver lining is that it wasn’t a deferral.

Accepted to the Class of 2028 after taking a gap year. I sincerely appreciate all of the support on the blog. As it has been stated, there are so many qualified kids with so much to offer and sadly it is just a small school. My son was disappointed last year and it has been a journey but I promised it works out. It really does as annoying as it is when people say that. Good luck to everyone!

I’m dying here. I still haven’t heard from D24.

Big, big congrats, helpingwiththekid and tennismom4193! My sympathies and support to lilyesh, LACLoverParent, and massmom2018. I suspect I’ll be making a similar announcement in the near future. But there are plenty of great colleges out there.

Thanks! I was definitely super upset for a good 10 minutes…I then proceeded to do homework and submit an application I had ready already. It definitely made me feel better. I’m going to hang out with my cousins now!
