Williams in NYC?

Have any of the alums/current students participated in this program? as a country girl from the midwest (ok, so maybe living in a semi-suburb of Cleveland doesn’t count as the country…) I’d love to get the chance to explore a big city, but at the same time be able to retreat to a quiet place in the middle of nowhere (hence why I didn’t apply to NYU or Columbia) Can anyone tell me about their experiences or the experiences of a friend?

Although I am a Williams alum, I had never heard of this program until I saw your post. So I looked into it:

“Students live on the fifth floor of the Williams Club in midtown Manhattan. Each has his or her own single room, complete with bathroom, balcony and cable television. In addition, all meals are provided by the Williams Club free of charge on weekdays, and breakfast is provided on weekends.”

If you are not familiar with the Williams Club, check it out at www.williamsclub.org. The students in the “Williams in New York” program may well have the cushiest “dorm” and “dining hall” arrangements on the planet.
