Wimbledon 2026

watching alexandra eala beat iga świątek in straight sets was a joy while seeing amanda anisimova melt down against madison keys unfortunate.

I love Madison Keys, so was happy to see her win her match. I do like Anisimova, but not as much as Keys. I will be rooting for Pegula and Coco tomorrow. Right now is kind of a golden time for American women. In fact, overall I am preferring women players over men. I have never liked Djokovic, particularly since his Covid behaviors/lies and I’m not a Zverev fan either with his personal issues with 2 women (and one child).

One thing I’m really loving is the ESPN team right now. I am very much enjoying the addition of Andy Roddick and I’ve always been a fan of Chris Eubanks and James Blake. Caroline Wozniaki also brings something to the table and I have always loved Mary Joe Fernandez.

It’s hard for me to say which I love more, Wimbledon or the Open. The big plus for the Open is night matches, but the tradition at Wimbledon is fabulous. Best part may be that I virtually ignore the news during the French, Wimbledon & the Open.

it would be nice for roddick to wear a blazer at least. thank goodness for grand slam tennis. get to avoid world cup:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I was also surprised at how casually Roddick has been dressed, particularly for Wimbledon. I was disappointed to see Tiafoe go down yesterday, but happy that Fritz has moved on to the next round. Happy for Dmitrov as well. He has such a good sense of humor. I loved when he responded to his upcoming (now past) opponent a few days ago in Berrotini by saying it would be a “pretty match.” He wasn’t wrong.

Watching Osaka and Sabalenka now. These women hit hard! It is a fabulous match.

Sorry to have missed Michael Zheng, he was the ncaa champion and just graduated from Columbia. He grew up around me and he did junior tournaments in the same area as my kids. Looks like he is off to a professional career

naomi and aryna are among the hardest female hitters easily. both are the same age and have 4 grand slams each. guessing the finals should include osaka and eala since the lesser bracket is so wide open.

novak and jannick are on a collision course for the semis but faa could spoil it. taylor or sasha could make the finals in the other end.

Taylor played so well today, but I have a new tennis crush in Arthur Fery. A Brit who lives 5 minutes from the AELTC and a qualifier. Evidently he played at Stanford during college. Seeing Henman Hill erupt at the end of the match took me back to the Andy Murray days. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Dmitrov was a class act in defeat and the crowd showed him the love on his exit. I wonder if this is his last Wimbledon.

Tomorrow I will be watching Pegula and Gauff through my fingers. Maybe rooting for Pegula just a smidge more than for Gauff as Coco’s game has not been as strong recently.

Taylor and Ben Shelton are my male tennis crushes. Coco is my female tennis crush.

Taylor crushed that tiebreak today.

Fear the Tree!

Very fun seeing this Stanford alum and his Cinderella story!

Saw on social media that Stanford Athletics has dubbed his journey, “The Fery Tale”

coco will relive that failed drop shot at her match point for the longest time. the fery tale will likely end friday but if he gets by sasha sunday will be the loudest home court advantage ever
