<p>Are they hard to get into?
Do I have to be ridiculously good to get into them?</p>
<p>I play the oboe but am not amazing. I’m thinking about dropping the oboe NOW if I won’t get a chance to play in college (reeds are ridiculously expensive, oboes are expensive to maintain, etc. etc.), and I’m totally fine with dropping it because it’s not my main musical focus anyway, but I’d like to play it for fun…
so yeah. Is it really hard to get into and is it a worthwhile experience?
