Winter 2013 Transfer Thread

@matisyahu oh!! congratulations!

Thanks guys XD. I hope everyone else gets in.
I didn’t apply to UVA. I wanted to go to Michigan’s Political Science program.

@albo23 Political Science. I wanted it as bad I wanted to breathe my man. Waist deep you know?

@Matisyahu - It’s cool that you and I are both going to be in U of M’s Political Science program! If you specialize in American Poltics (like I am), it’s ranked number one in the country. Exciting stuff. Probably not as much after the election is over, but exciting nonetheless. :P

@rainbowdashery - Email ecredentials@umich.edu and just let them know.

What are your plans after college with a Political Science degree, matisyahu and megagamer? Are you both looking at Law School?

@redsdave03: I see. I hope we could know the decision as early as possible! Good luck to Your! I guess by early or at most mid November we should know.

@albo - I’m looking at law school, and my dream is to eventually become a politican. That’s not an easy job to acquire though. lol

Is a class ranking of 116/634 good ? Sometimes I feel annoyed about this since there were some courses whose professors’ grading greatly below my expectation. But my professor told me he did provide some information in his recommendation letter saying our grading is the lowest and most rigorous. X_X

Well I would consider it good. But UofM seeks out the Leaders and the Best (pun). Worrying about the past won’t get you anywhere, Dreamingowl. Being concerned about your class rank won’t help you, I promise. My suggestion is to relax and focus on your current studies and your current university. The two biggest things UofM focuses on is GPA and credits, also if you have a major hook they will also look at that.

@albo23: Thanks very much for your suggestions. I did have some leadership experiences. I confess it’s hard and excruciating during waiting process which makes me kink about where I would be next semester. I took some other tough courses this semester, and I study hard for my Intro Sociology class but still just got a B for my essay though I already put all of my effort to it. I never complain or make excuse about my GPA, but I still struggle trying to find some way hoping they could understand my college’s academic is really not that easy…

@megagamerexe - Good luck. Lord knows we need honest, competent politicians these days…

@Dreamingowl - What are you hoping to major in at U-M?

@redsdave03 - Thank you! I know it. There is so much corruption and dirty money in politics today. Our generation needs to produce public servants who are honest, representative of the needs of all Americans, and who stand by their ideals. I’m just excited to start on my path to that at U of M. 3 months to go! :)

@ablo23 yes I am looking at Law school.

@Dreamingowl I understand that you’re trying to tell them that your school has a hard grading system. But they might think you’re trying to say “My school is hard, U-M is easy, and my grades will be higher at U-M.” U-M is a prestigious school, and I’m not sure they would just be like “Oh their school must be hard so they will do well here.” Do you know what I mean?

It is my mom’s birthday tomorrow. She says my acceptance is the best gift ever lol.

@Matisyahu: Thank you very much! Well I just provide a brief note in Common App.'s additional Note saying that " college rigor ranked top 5 most rigorous schools according to Newsweek Daily Beast". That’s all. I don’t know whether I was too overstated since I send many other additional attachment to ecrentials@umich.edu about my other college experience. I am afraid U-M would feel my application essays are too many and tedious…

@redsdave03: Communication Studies. If I was admitted for winter semester, I hope to explore more areas.

My mum’s birthday is Oct.28th. I was supposed to let her know about U-M before that if possible as a birthday gift, but it seems U-M’s delayed completance did not allow me to have that plan.

Comm Studies? Very cool. And that’s too bad. That would have been a GREAT birthday present for your mom. Hey, you still have 5 days left, though. A lot can happen in 5 days :)

@Dreamingowl I’m sure you will get accepted and make your mother very happy.

@albo23 do we need to hand in new financial forms after acceptance?

@redsdave03 and @Matisyahu: Thank you two very much! I don’t know whether I would be another lucky chosen one who can receive decision in coming 5 days–which is exactly my 2 weeks’ waiting process.

I really hope to hang out with you guys next year after “2012” and begin our new life together!

@Dreamingowl lol it sounds like we’re getting married, “being our new life together.” lolol.
