Yeah, my high school had a WEIRD system for calculating GPA. I believe it’s around 3.7 unweighted, but I’m not positive. Did you get your decision???

@REDSDAVE03:You mean you found “view decision” besides “view credential”? I think I might still have to wait for another day more.

@Dreamingowl Yeah, it’s another blue link right next to “view credentials.” I feel guilty that I received my decision before you. I really hope you get your decision within the next couple of days because YOU DESERVE IT. I’m feeling it, though. I think you’ll get your decision very soon. Can’t wait to hear the good news when you do get it.

@redsdave03: Thank you so much for best wishes! So do you prefer U-M to UIUC?

@Dreamingowl I’m very torn. I’m from the state of Illinois, so UIUC is much more affordable. I also have quite a few friends who go there. On the other hand, my parents went to Michigan. I’ve been raised a Michigan man. Conversely, I’ve been raised to hate UIUC. I love the city of Ann Arbor. I hate the state of Illinois. Urbana-Champaign is kind of in the middle of nowhere. The academics at Michigan (particularly my major, history) are slightly stronger. The greek life (which I’m not a fan of) is less prevalent at Michigan, though it is still fairly large. Sports are better at Michigan. Weather is crumby in both places. I already passed on Michigan once, I don’t know if I have it in me to pass on it twice. It’s a tough choice.

@redsdave03: I understand. Take your time! You could take some of your parents’ advices I suppose. Anyway congratulations to two of your admissions! One of my best friends is studying Civil Engineering at UIUC, so I kind of hoping to attend U-M so that both of us could visit each other’s different campus and life~ :)

I hope you get in Dreamingowl! Especially since I just checked this thread to see if you did!

@Dreamingowl Thanks! I really appreciate it! I’ll definitely be talking to my parents about this one. They have a vested interest both as Michigan grads AND with their pocketbooks. Hopefully, the wait for you is at an end shortly.

Does anyone know where/how we receive information about financial aid and the transferability of credits?

Congraduations!!!Guys!!!

They sent the credit transfer review together with the acceptance Email.

They said they won’t send out financial aid info until the beginning of December.

@Matisyahu Even merit-based financial aid, too?

Matis, who said that to you? I already have my fin aid info.

@redsdave03: Did you just get the decision around 1:40a.m? Till now today I still get nothing new yet.

@albo23 the financial aid office. The guy said that the financial aid comes out near the beginning of December.

how will adcoms take into account the grade deflation practices of our colleges? or where could we put such information on our applications?

@philantropist: I have the same problem about grade deflation. My professor told me that he mentioned it in the recommendation letter.

@Dreamingowl Mine came at around 12:30 A.M.

@redsdave03: Thanks! Well I waited till 2 a.m but got nothing yet. Hopefully it will come soon.

If someone hasn’t received acceptance by now, I would recommend that you should prepare to move on. If UMich is still your target, try fall 2013. Good luck!
