Winter 2013 Transfer Thread

@albo23 I thought we received them before we paid?

@albo23 I don’t even know what dorms to choose man. Help lol.

No I believe you receive them after. Lol I can’t help you, there are no dorms to choose! You get assigned to them.

@ablo23 but don’t we get to have preferences of what areas we want to live in?

@Matisyahu - As albo said, you get the housing forms after you make the deposit, which makes sense because the deposit lets U-M know that you are going to be attending the university. The form itself doesn’t let you choose where you live, but instead if your first or second choice is to live in North Neighborhood as well as if you do or don’t want a roommate. Since you are going to be a Political Science major like me, I wouldn’t recommend living in North neighborhood. It is kinda far away from central campus where all of our classes will be. The only people that would want to live in North are engineers and music/art majors since their classes are in that neighborhood.

Hi guys, I’ve been following this thread for a while now…also an applicant to University of Michigan Ann Arbor for spring 2013. I applied mid September and I got my acceptance on November 8 for College of Engineering. For the College of Engineering people, I did hear that they started send out decisions November 6 so don’t lose hope till you get the decision!

Congrats sjhcc09! Go Blue!

Matisyahu - You can only choose if North Campus is your first or second choice I believe.

FYI guys, orientation registration is open. I signed up for the 12th.

Hey how do you recieve the decision??? I have even received me WA access yet!!

@hongji711 you were supposed to have received the WA access about 10 days after you submitted your application. I didn’t get mine at all until I called the UMich admissions office, and they gave me my ID to create a friend account. So for all you know they could have already made a decision about you app and you just don’t know it because they only post it on WA (after clicking application status, there would be a blue link that says view decision). So definitely call the admissions - they’re not going to email you the decision (I never got any email, besides financial aid). Good luck and I hope you get in!

@Albo - I also signed up for December 12th orientation, so I’ll definitely see you then!

@sjhcc09 - Congrats!!!

Thank you and congrats to everyone who got accepted! Good luck to those who are still waiting!

@sjhcc09 Congrats!

I just got back from Champaign this weekend. Visited UIUC. I have to say, it was better seeing my friends than seeing the actual university…

Heading up to Ann Arbor Thursday night for a visit

signed up for the orientation on 17th!

where you are guys all going to live?

@Matisyahu - I don’t think anybody knows where they are living yet (especially if they signed up to live in the dorms). The housing forms were just released, so I think it’ll be some time before we receive those decisions. All in all, we have to wait some more. I know just how much everyone on here loves waiting for decisions. :P

@d4wnzz - That sucks that you won’t be able to meet up with Albo and I at the 12th orientation. They really shouldn’t schedule these during finals’ week.

I got bad financial aid =(.

^ Bad financial aid, or NO financial aid?
If you are an international student (based on your other post) and got any financial aid at all, that’s “good” financial aid for Michigan ;)

Just got accepted to electrical engineering. Thanks to everybody!!!
True thing is I also applied to Georgia tech since my girlfriend is there. And then she broke up with me after I paid the deposit to Georgia. I think now I am going decline Georgia’s offer and
go blue!!! But I have to forfeit my deposit to Georgia, feeling a little blue…

@Welcome to the club. It’s even more frustrating that they gave me a $10,000 per year scholarship last year. If I end up choosing Michigan, student loans here I come.

lol @hongji. U have a nice pun there. Feeling a little blue.
@Matis u are very lucky to receive money from U Mich! when are u going for ur orientation? Oh and btw, what about ur other applications? Did other schools accept u?
