Winter Break 2011

<p>I remembered reading a very minor reference to winter break programming in the end of year e-mails to Harvard parents. Until now, I have not seen any other references and was starting to believe that I was imagining it. Here is an interesting “release” that I came across this evening. This is not something that I remember having been sent to parents and my daughter does no recognize it either.

Between January 16 and January 24, 2011, student-initiated and College-led programming will be offered and will be advertised through a new online portal to encourage broad dissemination and participation in these activities.

Anyhow, does anyone know more details at this time?</p>

<p>Also, does anyone know about how students doing winter break research get to be housed?

Similar to Winter Break 2010, students with a recognized and pre-approved need to be on campus —including varsity athletes, international students, thesis writers, students conducting lab-based research and a limited number of other categories of students— will be permitted to remain in College housing while the College is closed.

<p>Question 2- Students who receive permission to stay for J-term are housed in their own rooms.</p>
