From what I’m hearing much of our country is in lousy weather shape! No bragging by those of you who are balmy, dry and warm!!
Northwest Ohio: We had an appetizer with probably 2-3 inches at dawn this morning. Our main entree will be through the night and into the morning tomorrow when we may get anywhere from a few inches to a foot. Add in a side dish of blowing and drifting. Final course, not sure I can call it “dessert”…arrives potentially Thursday with another snow event.
It’s been a rough February. Yes I know it’s winter. But a rough weather month.
D in Seattle had at least 11 inches of snow, melting today. D in Austin had 6 inches, but the worst part is the rolling electric blackouts (electric heat). Here in Colorado- you know a little snow, a little icy, then sunshine.
This is my back yard currently. It was a very cold walk to/from work this morning and I’m not looking forward to going back for the afternoon shift. I was shocked that patients are coming in today.
Our forecast keeps changing. In CT originally there was going to be a lot of freezing rain tonight. That has changed to rain, and tomorrow it’s going to be close to 50 (which means patio lunch with friends)
Now Thursday and Friday seem to be the targets. We shall see.
My daughter is in Austin, and while she has power on her little street, many nearby, do not. The power company had hoped to go with a rotating outage because there is not enough power available to keep up with consumer demand, according to my daughter, that is not happening in her area. Seem when they took homes off the grid, they couldn’t get them back on, so the decision was to leave those alone, that have power.
Northwest Alabama, main street in my town. It is ice, not snow. Temperatures are not expected to possibly be above freezing until Wednesday, so we are stuck at home until at least then.
We have good friends in Austin whose power has been out since 2:00 a.m. They have an inside faucet that they had dripping that has ceased doing so. Now they have to worry about pipes bursting.
We have snow on the ground, but it is old snow. Our weather story is that we have not been above 0 for a couple of days straight, nor have we been above 5 degrees for several days longer. We’ve set several records for the coldest high temps.
We are all looking forward to Wednesday when it is supposed to be 16.
