Wireless Routers

I’m getting a little annoyed with the slow internet in my room, haha. It doesn’t seem to matter whether or not I’m plugged into the ethernet port or using the MSUnet Wireless access; both are slow, especially when trying to watch videos (i.e. since I miss Glee due to jazz band rehearsal, I have to watch it online later, and unless I leave it to buffer for hours, I’ll have to do some waiting while it loads). Would getting a wireless router help speed it up (and–just curious–does that allow me to avoid the MSUnet Wireless authentication stuff)? I’ve seen posters before mention using them and would like to know your thoughts and experiences with them if you have any. Thanks! :D

The wireless router can’t make the internet faster than it would be your computer were plugged into the enternet port. It could be faster than MSUnet Wireless access. I wold think you could avoid the authentication stuff too unless you need to do that when you are wired.

You only have to verify once and then you’re good to go.

It’s not faster, but it’s more convenient since you don’t have to deal with a stupid cable.

I don’t deal with my cable anyway most of the time since I can get a good enough signal from Wireless downstairs. Oh well; guess I’ll have to continue twiddling my thumbs at YouTube and Hulu, lol. Thanks, you two! :)
