Wiser to stand in the city for school or transfer upstate Undergrad

I am schedule to attend Suny Binghamton this coming fall. I paid my deposit, I submitted my medical documents and I had already register to go to a late August orientation. However, I been questioning a lot about my decisions.

To keep it short, money earned over the course of the summer from work isn’t enough to pay off the remaining cost of tuition after Government’s grant. A part of me worries I’ll be broke throughout the semester. I also haven’t figure out what to do with my life (career wise). Given this, would it just be wiser to stay at my current school (less competitive), but save myself a ton of money?

The only downside to that is experience. My past two years attending a public college hasn’t been all that luxurious. Socially, it was pretty much invisible. I don’t want to go through undergrad lonely.

I guess my actual question is choosing between a local school to a university, which would you choose if money, networking and a level of prestige were factors into your decision?

Explain and please be detailed. It’s really important to me.

Best,
