Wish list for a more grown up facebook for adults

Although I am using Facebook I feel as though it is “babyish” and would like a more sophisticated Facebook for adults like myself.

If you had a “wish list” what would you wish Facebook offered that would appeal to your more mature side?

Google has a new social network. I do not know what it is called, but my daughter just started a site.

Is that Google Plus? My understanding is that is still a beta site and not fully launched.

Google+ is still in Beta, but I’m on it and happen to be a fan. Of course, there aren’t games or apps yet, and it has a clean interface, which makes it seem a bit more mature.

If you’re seeking “more adult” for “more adult” purposes, there’s always Linked In (think of it as Job Facebook).

Malapropism beat me to it. Yep, Google+.

I <3 Google+

What is really nice about it, is that from the get go you have complete control over how you organize your people, using what + calls “circles.” You can put people in any number of circles, and then you can share whatever you want with however many circles you wish. Likewise, people can include or not include you in their circles, and it is not reciprocal. So you can easily post a lolcat to your “stupid joke loving” circle, and that article about your supreme court argument to your “work” and “inlaws to impress” circles and some people will get only one of those posts, and others both.

I also like “sparks” where you can look for things to share… you put in a search term , like “college admission” and google returns articles, blog posts and other items of interest, and you can choose to share any of them with any circle. You can save the “sparks” (the searches) on your main page, so you can check for your personal news of interest whenever you want. Others can also see your sparks and click on them to see your interests.

All in all, +1.

Google+: Taking the subtlety out of popularity contests since 2011.
