With my transcript can I get into MIT?

<p>I have a 4.07 overall GPA, volunteer at my local Hospital, hold the presidency of four clubs at my school, my class rank is 6, and I am very motivated. My freshman year, however, wasn’t great and I got a 3.125. Sophomore year I got a 4.14, I took 1 AP class and Junior year I got a 4.85, I took 6 AP classes. Next year I’m taking all AP and I can pull straight A’s. My SAT score was a 2080, is that good enough for MIT? Overall, I don’t know if I’m good enough! Oh and I’m a girl, if that makes a difference for MIT?</p>

<p>2080 is a bit low for MIT. Unless you show some real talent for science/engineering/math, your shot is pretty slim.</p>

<p>yea you have good stats, but your essay and overall app matter as well.</p>

<p>Agree with Chen… A girl I know from our school had a 4.0 UW and around 5.0W, prez of Robotics, etc, 2300+ SAT, stellar recs and essays got rejected from MIT.</p>
