The withdraw button is still available for me even tho i’ve already been accepted.

Can i actually withdraw still? If so, until when?

THe only way you can legally withdraw, I believe, is if you decide the financial aid package is not good enough (this is according to the former dean of admissions that still does some work in the engineering department). So, since that is a subjective thing, then yeah, I guess you can legally withdraw if you claim your aid package is not sufficient…

Changed your mind…why would you wait until today when you get in to ask this? You could have legally withdrawn at 4:59 today without any problems whatsoever.

i wanted to get innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

might not be able to do that RD.

When do we find out the financial aid package?

The financial package should come with your acceptance letter.

And what do you mean? You wanted to get in but don’t want to go there? You have to declare intent to enroll by like January 6…so you won’t even know where else you got in if you withdraw based on financial aid. What you’ve just stated doesn’t make any sense…

live,

well, i know i have a good chance at some other schools i’ve liked to go to. Cornell is my first choice but the fact that it’s in the middle of nowhere and the poor weather sometimes gets me.

i hope i don’t offend anyone. i will most likely attend cornell, but i just want to be sure if i still have other options.

weather is relative, my friend. i love it. some hate it. but the snow in winter is amazing, and coming from a floridian, believe me 4 seasons is really awesome, even if one (spring) is completely useless. but i love the grey, depressing weather. it makes me feel good, and it meshes with my fashion sense ;)

as for the middle of nowhere…well, pretty much. it’s by no means penn, or columbia, or harvard…but compare it to the yale location, for example. and the odds of getting mugged at cornell is negligible, i think. plus there is a ton of stuff nearby, Corning (so freaking awesome), Buffalo (don’t become a bills fan, if you have any dignity), which has some museums, even if it’s mostly noted as the coldest, most depressing, breeding ground for serial killers in america. rochester is not special at all, but has some game. rhino’s football, oh, soccer (sorry ;)) is a lot of fun, and they have light shows at the waterfalls sometimes. really cool. the city is great to hang around…it’s no NYC, but i for one feel safe in even the poorest sections of the city. Kodak is the towns b**** now, but has contributed a lot, and u can still see it, make use of it.
also, APPLE CIDER!!! worth going to cornell all by itself
also, WATKINS GLEN. no i’m not talking about nascar (although at least they turn left!). the road races are interesting, and the state park is flat out the undisputed best in the united states. it is AMAZING. best camping, anyway. cornell is great for outdoorsy types. plus, the benefits of a city are overrated sometimes, cuz the cornell campus has everything, so leaving campus isn’t really necessary.

in short, cornell=WAY underrated…so go, if you get in

the weather’s not bad…then agian, I’m insane and walked around in 26 degree weather with flip flops and no jacket.

thanks a lot 26e.

i got in, btw.

yeah…idk. i love it, i’m just not sure if i would go back if i got in RD, cuz it’s sorta a been there, done that, situation. but it’s still amazing. there’s so many ways to entertain yourself…all the food in ithaca (cuz used to live there…i lived idk maybe 30 min away?). dont underestimate the amount of fun u can have with friends at a hockey or polo game (polo, seriously…it’s interesting!).

yeah, i can prob answer local Q’s, but it looks like you’ve been around long enough to know what’s what, and i’m sure cornellians have come around to tell you all about it.

anyway, cornellians are very nice…i’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
