Withdraw from all classes!!HELP!!

I am crying right now because of this stressful situation. I owe around 3000 dollars and did not even attend a single class. I was supposed to be an incoming freshman for Fall 2012 semester. We were all fine until we found out in july that my parents PLUS loan did not go through I was supposed to get a loan from my wealthy uncle (I would pay him back later on in the semester) but for some reason the loan did not go through for a bank. He has amazing credit but owns his own business so that made things complicated. My parents could not get a loan this year for the tuition. Then the tuition deadline came and on that day we called the school and told them that we had a loan that was still processing and that we would get it to them as soon as possible. However the loan did not go through a week later. We tried so many banks but because he was my uncle, it put up red flags and they denied me for a loan. We were still trying through the first day of school and over the weekend. My parents said that if my uncle could not even get a loan then no one can get a loan for me. I tried to drop my classes and withdraw from the university but when I looked at my billing it said that I was charged 11k for the semester. I sent a withdraw request a while back and tried to cancel everything but they told me that once classes started I could not drop classes but could withdraw from them. I told them that the school had an add/drop period after classes started but they told me that if I wanted to withdrawal from all of them, it would be a lot of money. That is when I started freaking out. I thought that if you did not pay tuition that meant you could not go. The school said that if you did not pay tuition by the deadline that your account and classes would be immediately canceled. We paid nothing towards tuition and that is the main problem that I have now. I was told that in the first five days after classes have started then I would get 80% refund into my account. I did not know what the meant. I did not pay anything yet so does that mean that I have to pay for 20% of the 11k? I just thought that if I did not pay tuition then they would cancel everything and drop all of my classes. Me and my parents are still trying to assess the situation. My parents had such high hopes for me and I had them for myself also. I wound up costing myself thousands in the end without even stepping foot into a classroom. Should I try to appeal something or is everything pretty much set in stone? With this amount of money I will not be able to actually start school until next semester somewhere else and will have to find another job to pay back this. I am just tired and depressed because of how much can go wrong in what was supposed to be the last summer before college.

Sorry for the long post but I have been calling people all day trying to find out more and researching everything I can because this is so difficult and it is all my fault for not cancelling sooner but we were so sure that the loan was going to go through and that we were just going to move in later but everything just snowballed and overwhelmed us.

I’m so sorry you are having all these worries and problems. I don’t know how to help you other than to say to keep trying to work with the University. Maybe they’ll be willing to make exceptions or negotiate an arrangement you can handle.
