Withdraw from my 300 level Statistics Course

Hello Everyone,

I am currently enrolled in a 300 level statistics course. However, I am not doing as well in the course as I expected to (meaning I may get a C- or worse in the class). The class average on the exam for statistics was 30% and only 2 people out of a class of 38 passed the first exam. Would it look bad on my medical school application if I withdraw from the class, or will it look worse if I stay in the class and get a C- or D?

Will the withdrawal be recorded as a W or W-passing/failing?

If it’s recorded as Withdrawal-failing, it’s counted as an F by AMCAS.

But, if it’s a W or W-passing, then W is preferable to D or F grade.

@wayoutwestmom The grade will just be recorded as a W.
My advisor stated that the W will not be averaged into my GPA.
