WHAT’S WITH THESE KIDS??? Are they all so self-centered? Is this our doing? Why have so many of us wonderful, open, amazing parents raised kids who are so tunnel-visioned? Is this a developmental thing? OMG!!! I am really shocked (and also not feeling so alone!) that so many people are dealing with similar issues with their 20-somethings.

mom60- I don’t text…I’m too cheap to pay even ONE more cent to verizon…
We have like 500 shared minutes between FOUR cell phones on family plan. They don’t even offer a plan with so few minutes anymore.
I get a 22% discount on the first line through work and then we pay the $13 ish for each of the other three lines. I do pay for DS to have the $10 texting hunk…even I know that texting is REQUIRED for these ‘young adults’. (We call it his christmas gift that $120 per year). So, my total plan for the family is like $90.

franglish- have to laugh…I so do hope that I’m one of your wonderful, open, amazing parents!! I do think that the computer/video games/cell phones have caused this cocoon thing where these 20 somethings are sucked into their equipment. When we can make eye contact with DS, he is very articulate, warm and (usually) a joy. It’s pulling him away from all the ‘stuff’.
