I initially put down the 100$ deposit back in december to get in line for the housing queue, because UChicago looked unaffordable, even though I had gained admission there.

Now, UChicago is not that much more expensive than OSU, as OSU hardly gave me anything in scholarships, and for the prestige boost, UChicago is worth it.

I am wondering if anyone would know an email for who I should contact at OSU to let them know I am withdrawing myself from their system (and losing the $100).

I emailed askabuckeye@osu.edu but haven’t received an email back.

Also, is anyone else in this situation? I liked OSU enough that if it was vastly more affordable than UChicago, I would have attended, but OSU made the choice easy for me.

Just call the admissions office, askabuckeye@osu.edu will just be a student working in admissions and that student will just have to contact his or her supervisor since students can’t take you off the registrar.

I’m an OSU student so I’m pretty biased to OSU, but yeah UChicago is a way more reputable school so if they cost the same for you, you should go for Chicago. What’s your major?

I contacted Steven Mousetes and he is taking me out of the system and stuff, so nvm about that…

Yeah UChicago is still more expensive, but it’s not incredibly more, I might have to have some debt, but UChicago looks like an incredibly unique experience, they are both good research institutions though. I am going for applied mathematics/ mathematics / statistics / economics? I am undecided between these, but I want to double major.
