Women Swimmers Commit to SC for Fall 2012

<p>Some athletic recruiting has taken place already for the Class of 2016. NCAA rules have certain dates when athletes may sign a Letter of Intent, a binding commit to a college/university.</p>

<p>Since these young women have already been accepted to SC and will be in the class I thought it might be interesting to learn something about them.</p>

<p>Jasmine Tosky is from Palo Alto High in CA. Jasmine won a gold at the 2011 World Championships. She was the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame Female High School Athlete of the Year. She has won various medals and set a natonal prep record in the 100y fly at the 2011 CIF Central Coast Section Championship. Jasmine was a five time finalist at the 2010 U.S. Nationals. She was heavily recruited by Stanford.</p>

<p>Kendyl Stewart is from La Costa High in CA. She won a silver medal at the 2011 World Jr. Championships in the 50y fly. At the 2011 CIF San Diego Division Championships she set a national age group record with a 52.43 in the 100y fly. For the younger age group she holds the 100y fly record. She is in her second year as a member of the U.S. National Jr. Team. Kendyl is a Scholastic All-American.</p>

<p>A Sophomore Transfer----</p>

<p>Andrea Kropp is from Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in CA. She is a transfer from Princeton where Andrea won 2011 Ivy League titles in the 100y and 200y breast stroke as a freshman. She set school records in two events. In CA she was a nine time prep All-American. Andrea placed in the 2010 U.S. Nationals and won the 200 m breast at the 2010 Jr. Nationals.</p>

<p>How fast do you have to be to walk on?</p>

<p>A top commit for women’ diving is Natalie Kalibatt of the Lewis School in Princeton, N.J. Natalie was 7th in synchro platform at the 2011 U.S. Nationals and placed 10th in the synchro 3 meter. She is a seven time Jr. National Qualifier and a 2010 AAU national champion on 3 meter and platform. She was the Eastern Interscholastic Champion on a 1 meter from 2009-2011 and was the 2011 N. J. state champion on the 1 meter.</p>

<p>Natalie qualified for the Olympic Trials in synchronized diving. In 2010 she won her school’s spirit award and the 2010 Academic Founder’s Achievement Award.</p>
