Women's Admissions at Math/Science Schools

<p>Is it true that women applying to science/math focused schools like MIT, Caltech, or undergrad engineering and science schools (like Columbia/UPenn/Duke SEAS) get a substantial boost in their application, because of the mere fact that they are female? I’ve heard a lot of people saying that girls get in easier, but I’m not sure if this is true.</p>

MIT: 9.96% M, 26.9% F</p>

<p>If you’re asking if more females get in, then the answer is yes. However, it’s highly probable that the females who do apply are self-selected and have the requisite stats.</p>
