I’m not insinuating talking politics. Just logistics.
But I’m curious if any CC’ers are going? Are you going with friends or family? A group? Have you done anything like this before. I have two friends going - one is my age, 57 and the other is a neighbor who is in her early 70’s (and totally cool!).
I’m real curious about it all. I also pray for everyone’s safety.
I think the plan has been to have something in every state capitol in addition to the major march in DC. So, if for whatever reason you can’t get to DC but want to participate, check out what is going on in your home state.
I will participate but am still deciding whether to do so in DC (have family I can stay with) or do it locally. I’ll be honest that I’ve given some thought to safety concerns and that plus the long hike to DC has made me think about staying local. I might wait and decide at the last minute depending on the weather/driving conditions at the time, something that can factor in during January.
I was going to go to DC for the inauguration if the election had turned out differently, and considered going to the march. I eventually decided not to go because, at the time I made the decision, the march wasn’t very well organized. If there’s a local march, I’ll participate.
I have quite a few friends taking a bus from Philly. I have more friends and their daughters marching in Philly. I’ll be marching in Philly with both of my teenage daughters:)
I’m going, but then I live in the DC suburbs, so it’s only a Metro ride away. To be honest, I’m a bit more worried about frigid weather or freezing rain (two DC specialties around the time of inaugurations) than safety, but concern about lone crazies or more organized violence are still at the back of my mind.
Two of my former teachers and one of my friends are going to the March in DC. I’ll be going with my class too, but for the inauguration instead (sigh).
My 16yo D and I were planning on going, with friends by bus, til I remembered she is signed up for the SAT that day. We will now attend the local march in the Boston area instead.
