womens' tops

Do any of y’all have the problem of trying casual tops, like lightweight knits, on and the necks are super huge? What’s up with that? Or they are really low? Or both? LOL.

Only when I venture into regular sizes instead of Petites. The Petites always hit me a couple of inches higher.

Necks are fine…it’s the super skinny arms that get me. What’s a gal with bingo arms to do? ;-)

Bingo arms?

@VeryHappy‌ Ever see a larger lady wave her arms in the air? The flapping ain’t pretty. You can see it in person at Bingo games… like when you get a Bingo and raise and wave your arms about in excitement. ;-).

that’s funny!!

I just wish they wouldn’t put spandex in everything. I don’t need a tight shirt.

No flaps, slats, or ailerons here, but I still have trouble getting my arms squeezed into those tiny sleeves. I just tried on a pretty Max Mara top, and was sad that the neckline was so low it fell off my shoulders! Argh.

I thought they were called bat wings!

I’ll be happy when manufacturers just go back to a fabric weight that isn’t see through.

Yes, many V-neck tops are too low cut. I have to wear either a cami or some sort of layer otherwise I’m practically indecent.

I miss natural fibers, and fabric heavier than tissue paper.

I miss Coldwater Creek! I generally stay in petites too for the neckline and shoulders. I don’t have a problems with the arms being tight - yet!

Finding a nice long sleeve t is like finding a needle in a haystack. Well I also would rather not pay a $100 for said t also so maybe that is my problem.

My d is 5’3" and weighs around a 100 pounds. She is not heavy in any respect and she complains that she has trouble with the arms being too tight. If she has problems, God help the rest of us.

Crew necks are no longer crew necks. Even when they are advertised as a crew neck. They are now a large round neck. For someone like me whose neck gets cold, that’s problematic. So yes, I’ve noticed necks are larger.

I still have a few crew necks from about 10 years ago, and the neck is definitely higher. I miss those. But I don’t think they are coming back. Sigh.

Sleeves are tighter also. I sometimes have to go a size up just for the sleeves.

I’ve been really happy with my Lands End and LL Bean t-shirts and long sleeve knit shirts. <a href=“Lands' End | Guided Navigation”>http://www.landsend.com/shop/womens-knit-tops-polos-turtlenecks/-/N-fxr

@walkinghome, me too. I love my Lands’ End fitted long sleeve T’s. I have about eight of them in short sleeve and about six of them in long sleeve.

Second, Land’s End. Also, look at Talbot’s for tee shirts and other knit tops. But wait for sales on both places as they are always having sales.

Walkinghome, Coldwater Creek was bought out of bankruptcy by a private equity firm. They are currently operating an online only business.

Often, even $100 will not help. The cute looking top it tried on was way more than that… Did not expect such horrible quality from MaxMara!

Basic tees and shirts are easier to find than dressier tops for business casual. I gave up and wear dresses!
