What I love about soccer is those incredible passing plays when everything lines up perfectly and those close plays where time seems to slow down when the ball is stuck in the goal box.

Great win! Defense played well, but they need to make their passes sharper. Too many of them went straight to French players.

It was offside, though. I didn’t even hear the commentators question that call.

Another opponent or even the same opponent on another day, the result could have been different. France had many opportunities that didn’t connect. Possession is important, too.
For a hand ball call, it must be deliberate. Looked accidental to me. But not going to VAR, like they should have done for the offsides on the USA, seems wierd to me.
They did talk about it, and put up the line that showed she was even with the defender. It should have at least been reviewed.
Since it didn’t matter in the end, they let it go.

Based on history, even in this World Cup, making oneself bigger by having your arms out is considered deliberate.

You don’t decide in “the end”. You decide in the moment. There was no guarantee for USA at that point in time. If they thought the call was questionable, they should have complained.
