Is this real? I don’t even…

Holy God. I remember watching a YT vid of an interview with him after he won the National Spelling Bee. I thought he might’ve been an autistic savant or something. Wow.

I remember that exact video and cracking up over it endlessly. Looks like Evan’s getting the last laugh…damn karma…

Too good for us public school dogs, eh? Well, we’ll teach 'im a lesson or two…-Wraps a chain around his hand-

I didn’t know Harvard had a special needs program…

What a cocky little tool… I wish he went to an inner city public school… That would’ve taught him some humility…

Yeah, he wouldn’t have anything to brag about then because he wouldn’t have learned anything.

Seriously, it’s amazing that he won IMO and winning Intel with a math project is extremely difficult. It would have been good, though, if somebody prepped him for the interview, especially the one after the spelling bee.

You can’t really blame the guy for having such an arrogant attitude. He definitely would have learned social skills if he attended a school (rather than being homeschooled). Give him credit for his smartness, and maybe he’ll learn in college (about how to socially interact properly)

I don’t see any evidence of arrogance. His mind works differently than those of most people. He’s on track to win a Nobel Prize and will probably exceed far beyond most of us. More power to him.

IMO gold medalist too apparently.

And taekwando black belt.

Jesus H Christ

He can be weird all he wants when he’s ten times as smart as me.

No, “jsungoh”, medical evidence points the the contrary. Evan is diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, described essentially as a “high functioning form of autism” where the classic, most prevalent symptom is a lack of empathy in social contexts.

@ Nikkor50mm: Maybe so, but I still do know people with autism that do learn along the way. Not that that concretely applies to Evan. lol. I still remember you, but whatever. Congrats on your acceptances.

(learn along the way as in become better people socially)

Wow. And I was all proud of myself hahah

Congrats on H and S as well. Never did get that PM from you, though.

ASD can severely limit social functioning, and it’s incredible how much he accomplished, both socially and academically, in spite of it. For someone with Aspergers he actually has pretty good social skills.

I don’t care what label his parents excuse his behavior with, but he’s an ass-- even if he’s a smart one.

It isn’t a “label” you tool, it’s a disease.
