Wonderful blog about the life a young musican (and parents)

I can’t post a link to the blog as it’s forbidden by CC rules. But if you look for a blog on violinist.com by Karen Rile - her posts are full of all sorts of very timely and pertinent information and anecdotes. For instance, the current post is “I Flunked My Pre-Screens, Now What?” And last month’s was about considering the travel complications in choosing a school far from home, in the light of Thanksgiving Break! (Although she does talk about the difficulties of getting to and from Bard, and I can assure her that her niece will get more comfortable with that and soon it will be second nature!)

Very fun and lively posts - and all of interest to the Music Major Forum community.

Is it really against the TOS to link to a website like Violinist.com?

[edit]

Hmm, looks as though it may be, subject to interpretation: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/faq.php?faq=vb_faq#faq_new_faq_item</a>

The blog is not a personal blog, but a column similar to others published in traditional media.

I tried to post it once before, and it was removed. But maybe you’ll have better luck! The interpretation seems to be whether it’s a moderated blog or not.

That’s interesting-- the featured blogs on Violinist.com are not only moderated-- they are solicited by the site owner and paid. However, if a CC moderator swooped in and removed it, apparently a forum member must have found it objectionable and flagged it.

Okay Super moderator - this blog post should be okay vis a vis the CC policies as it is both moderated and paid: [Karen Rile on Violinist.com](Karen Rile Blog Archive for November 2014)

Highly recommended!

Can this be reposted in a new thread entitled “What if you flunk your prescreens,” or something like that? The gist of this blog entry closes mirrors some private conversations we have all had and might help someone who is feeling that disaster looms…and needs to know there are no disasters!

Will do. Just figured out how to link to the individual posts.
