<p>Why would a college not give out full financial aid details until after a student commits? They only sent me an estimate (although I’m already certain of getting a lot of aid). This is a well-known institution and I am sure everything is on the up-and-up, just wondering why they aren’t giving me concrete numbers.</p>
<p>^I don’t necessarily think that they’re waiting for you to commit, it’s more than likely due to the fact that most universities don’t formalize their fees for the coming year until mid-summer. If some of the aid is directly related to the actual cost, the best they can do initially is give an estimate.</p>
