Won't get in?

My gpa is really sucky. It is a 3.35, and I am halfway through my Junior year. I moved, so it was hard to get used to this school district. For the first two terms, my gpa this year has been a 4.2. Is there no hope of getting into pennstate? I am a Pennsylvania resident, and my sat is 1330, also kinda sucky.

I got in for engineering at UP with a 3.0 and 1400. Granted it was summer session and not fall start but I think you’ll be fine.

There will be a college for you.

If Penn State is really what you want, look for feeder programs into it. That could mean two years at CC and then an auto transfer in. It might mean offering to start in spring or summer. Likewise, narrow down what it is about Penn State that attracts you, and look for schools with similar offerings.

Check Summer start.
Choose your major carefully. Do not apply to Smeal or Engineering. You odds are better in HHD or IST, better still in Agriculture - explore the majors offered there.
Look into the branch campuses - especially Altoona, Behrend, and Harrisburg.
What’s your current schedule and what’s your planned schedule for senior year?

It is relatively difficult to transfer into Penn State from a community college without losing some time. A better bet would be to start at a Penn State commonwealth campus for a seamless transition.

@ellevx the above listed advice is excellent. I would like to add use your essay to “positively state your struggles in a new school and how you succeeded”. That is a great story and will put a positive spin on your GPA -especially with your junior year GPA. Your SAT is not that low but if you can raise your score it would show how determined you are. Good luck
