woohoo! Alcohol-wise course.

As recently as the late 80s/early 90s, which I realize is before some of you were born, students at some schools had real keys to unlock the front door of their residence halls at some schools. It wasn’t a big deal to have two keys. Schools that had open doors had receptionists in the hall that would call residents when a visitor arrived.

There were paper computer cards, though! [They were called punch cards](http://www.columbia.edu/acis/history/cards.html).

Certain offices at the University use proximity cards (“prox cards”) that work 1-3 inches away from the pad mounted next to the locked door. The cards themselves are fairly inexpensive, but I imagine the door unitsr are a little pricey.

You are a candidate for a lanyard. Get thee to the bookstore and buy one! They’re only a few dollars.

Oh, I haven’t heard of this person myself. Sounds like we finally joined the ranks of schools that have campus preachers. You can see loads of videos of campus preachers on youtube. Some students completely ignore these people and others engage them. Berkeley is a hotbed of this sort of activity.
