<p>If my essay is like 3500 characters but 650 words, is it too long? Or is it fine since it’s under the character count?</p>
<p>Thats too long. Princeton specifically says 500 words–pretty sure the characters are in case you use longer words or something to that effect, not so people can add more words.</p>

but then again, it is not that big of a deal because the essay is uploaded so they have no way of telling how many words are in your essay unless they count them </p>
<p>although, i only advise going over about 20 words not 150 because they can eyeball the length</p>
