It is only a day before the test!! (OMG) I just want to offer everybody a word of advice a day before the test. You may be like me, somebody cramming it all up to this day, or somebody taking it for the first time. Regardless of the situation it won’t be the end of the world.

What I have learned from the loads of practice tests I have done is that, you will need a very clear mind. Avoiding those stupid mistakes in math, spotting those annoying errors in writing, or thinking with the SAT prospective. So…GET A GOOD SLEEP!!! Your mental state at the time of the test is very important. Do not stay up all night looking at grammar rules or doing a set of practice problems. Just review your mistakes, crawl in bed, and doze off!

During the test, it is best you start off giving your best shot at the essay. I suggest looking at this link
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/645763-how-write-12-essay-just-10-days.html

According to my personal preference, I like to use my own life examples or “modify” experiences. Don’t be afraid to come up with your own examples. The essay reader will only take a minute or two. Write as much as you can. Writing the good essay will give you much needed confidence to carry on.

After the essay, as collegeboard recommends, work as fast and effectively as possible. If you feel you did not do so well on a question, move on, and DO NOT THINK about it. If you do, it will hurt you. It is very hard, but try your best to shake it off.

If you are feeling very confident, going like OMG SO EASY!!! Tell yourself to be quiet and RETAIN FOCUS 100% of the time. I was like this once for a practice test on reading (my worst subject). I felt that reading was so easy. I was like lalalalalala and ended up getting a 520. Whereas, when I looked back, if I focused more, and did not make the stupid mistakes I made, I could have gotten 600+

Lastly, after you are done. It is time to celebrate. Dance, drink, smoke a cigar, whatever. It is time to say farewell to this evil evil test.

If this is your first time taking SAT. Then, congrats on losing your virginity. If you are a junior or younger, START PRACTICING!!! DO NOT BE LIKE ME!!! Cramming it all the way till my senior year. Since August, I have had no life, and did Standardized tests all the time!!
Get it over with early, and enjoy your senior year!!

Good luck everybody. We will all do well. If you prepared, you will do well. Attack this bad boy with all you got. For all the pain, endless trial and errors, frustrations it has brought us. Fight it with that spirit (but be smart about it :P)

Cheers.
