Word suggestion to essays with no word limit.

I’m applying to Grand Valley State right now and there’s 4 essay questions on the application which you have to answer all of them. I really don’t know how many words they want for each and don’t want to do too little or too many. The 4 topics it’s asking about are.

  1. Describe your education achievements in the face of any challenging social, economic or cultural circumstances you’ve encountered.
  2. At Grand Valley, we feel that a range of thoughtful perspectives is necessary for open inquiry, liberal education, and a healthy community. Please tell us what unique perspectives you will bring to our university.
  3. Other academic or community awards you have received:
  4. Work Experience:

I have to fill out all of them and it just seems like other academic awards could be done in a very few amount of words because for the most part I already listed all honors, and clubs. Thanks!

Usually you can copy paste something random you have written into the box and see if a word limit comes up when you do. Check that first, there is a big difference between 250 and 600 words. I would think the first two are likely 250 -350 max words. (Many schools seem to use 250 max, this year the UCs have four questions that are 350 max.) The bottom two don’t seem to be essays (unless it says something different at the top), I would think you would just provide the requested information for those two. Order awards most impressive/important first, and keep it in high school time frame. They don’t care that you won a spelling bee in 5th grade. Good luck!
