So when Wordle posts my results to date, it includes two things I don’t understand: “Current streak” and “Max streak.” What do those refer to??

Current streak is number of consecutive days you have solved the puzzle. Your current streak ends if you miss a day or you flame out.
Max streak is your longest streak.

Wordlebot says the average number of guesses is 5.4 on today’s Wordle (average of 15k players), which is the highest I have ever seen. The average skill is 64/100, which is the lowest I can recall. It sounds like today’s puzzle is more challenging than typical.
I also struggled, with 4 guesses and the lowest skill rating I have ever received. Wordlebot disliked my 2nd guess. I believe I correctly identified the 3 best letters for the 2nd guess and used them, but the remaining 2 letters were not helpful in reducing solutions. The better strategy was using 2/3 best letters and 2 good letters, only having 1 that was not helpful. However, had I used a better 2nd guess strategy, my end result would still have been 4 guesses. I can see why the average number of guesses is so high on today’s puzzle.
