I was initially blocked by the NYT paywall again today. I think my days of free Worldlebot are going to end very soon According to Worldebot, there was only 1 optimal 2nd guess, and I correctly identified it. The 2nd guess was only 18/100 luck in spite of hitting 4 of the 5 letters, due to multiple rhyming words. Fortunately I chose the right rhyming word on my 3rd guess.

Should have gotten this in 3. Picked an obscure word for my third guess. Had I thought more before guessing, I wouldn’t have done that.
Strategically, I am almost always better off not solving the first word in 3 guesses on Quordle. Using a third guess to get five, additional, unique letters helps me to usually get all four words in 7 guesses. When I get greedy and take the first word in 3 guesses, I rarely get it in 6 and often take all 9 guesses. I need to not deviate from my strategy.

I wasn’t trying to be strategic with my second guess, just was guessing a word that I thought would find the location of my two missing letters. I was pleased that WordleBot and I would have chosen the same word for the 3rd guess, too. Interestingly, WordleBot got stuck in a rhyming game (it went through 3 words with the same last 4 letters before it found the right word). Because of that, I tied WordleBot with 4 turns in Hard Mode!
