Words of Wisdom

To get us all through this stressful period, here are some practical and wise words of advice. Feel free to contribute other pieces of wisdom.

Build a man a fire, and he will be warm for a night.
Set a man of fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

or he will be in ashes on the floor  either way works mwa ha ha ha

Haha…reminds me of a bio class impromptu discussion on spontaneous combustion…that was fun. (More fun than the elephantiasis one, anyway.)

:shudder:
kebree! why did you have to bring that up
:vile images:

Ooh, I have 2 good ones that may help us through this tough time (they’re also on my buddy profile):

“To stop where we are is to abandon our high hopes and become suitors to Yale and Harvard for their secondary characters.” ~Thomas Jefferson

“You know how people are. They only recognize greatness when some authority confirms it.” ~Calvin and Hobbes

:) :)

haha…love the Jefferson one. He was obviously talking about UVa, but still—I’m sure he would have loved Princeton =)

lol, I’m tempted to whip out my copy of This Side of Paradise and give some descriptions of pton, but I think I’ll save that for if I get in. I haven’t finished the book yet, although I started it last year, before I thought about princeton. It’s a sign! It’s a sign! Everything is a sign to me now.

Here’s one for you silmon:
Know your vocab for G’s final.

…
is that a personal message or am I missing something?

Yea, Halloween was a sign, the fact that the only clothes that happen to fit are orange is a sign, the fact that Ukraine’s oposition color is orange is a sign, the fact that the oponents of my school’s team were orange and black is sign. My cat has stripes, like a tiger, it’s a sign.I happen to be wearing anorange t-shirt, that’s a sign. my mom bought oranges and orange is a security level in Bush’s scale, SIGNS EVERY WHERE. Real life symbolism. Hawthorne, eat your heart out. I never understood that saying.

lol I see real princeton signs though. Like the Princeton Laundry truck that passed me twice. Or the commericals from Princeton Ski Shop

yeah, we’re in the same english class (she’s a Yalie)

ooooh
Yalies invading? uh ohz

but Princeton is number 3!

You step into the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to

Never fear the shadows,
for all that means is that there is a light shining nearby

I love that one, kayoshin. It is officially quoted.

haha…celebrian, I already knew you were a Lord of the Rings fan =)
(Does it take one to know one?)

celebrian is the name of a lothlorien maid, if i recall (I play Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game).

lol i dont know anything about LOTR
