I’m a senior in HS and will graduate in a few weeks. At the moment I am working on getting my insurance license so I can legally work with Transameica Insurance which my dad is with at the moment. I will be working on commission by explaining to business owners about a rebate and incentive program that gets them back money from government programs and having them agree to meet with the financial experts that will help their business get access to the grant program. I want to jump start my work experience (outside of the typical HS fast food job I’m doing now) and was just wondering from a strangers POV what you think the benefits would be of following through with this, which I am going to do.

There is no better way of finding out what you want to do than to do an internship and getting some real job experience. Whatever you are doing in high school or the first few years in college do not need to directly related to your future career. It is perfectly fine to try something and decide it is not for you. As a hiring manager, I look for young people with any sort of job experience (to show up on time for work and able to get along with people are huge). I would also ask applicants why they decide to do certain jobs, what they liked about it and what they didn’t like about it. If I see a high schooler getting an office job, I would usually assume they got it through some sort of connection. I wouldn’t necessary take anything away from them as long as they gained some experience and did a good job.
I think it would look good and help you to stand out. It could also generate a great letter of rec, as you will probably need some in the future.
