Work/Play Laptop Search

So I’m going to be studying Chemical Engineering in the fall and am in the market for a college laptop. I won’t be bringing my desktop to college (it’s rather big) and so I’m looking for a powerful, yet light laptop that will excel both at productivity tasks, gaming and multimedia (I like video editing). The 15" size is what I am looking for and it must run Windows.

My current candidates are:

MSI GS60 Ghost Pro (http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GS60_2PE_Ghost_Pro.html#hero-specification</a>)

Razer Blade 14 (<a href=“Gaming Laptops - Laptop Computers for PC Gaming - Razer Blade💻 | Razer United States”>http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-blade/</a>)

I considered the Lenovo y510p as well but I really want the increased performance of the 800 series GPUs without needing a power hungry SLI solution. Alienware laptops look too radical (this will be a work laptop too). The Razer Blade looks amazing and packs a punch but it lacks Ethernet ports and is pricey. The MSI GS60 has more storage, similar performance, great looks and isn’t as expensive making it my top pick right now.

Are there other alternatives for my needs? Am I bringing too much power to college? Or am I on track with the MSI?
