<p>how come some people get financial aid where the college pays for you and some people get work study?</p>
<p>I don’t receive financial aid, but it seems to work something like this according to my friends who are on work study: you get financial aid and in addition if you want a job to get some extra cash, you can get it from the government without it being taxed. It’s somewhat baffling because you don’t even have to use the money you earn to pay the school. I suppose that’s what it’s for though.</p>
<p>Are work-study jobs only available to people who have been given financial aid? I won’t be given any aid, but I definitely need some sort of job.</p>
