<p>Just go ahead and give them a call and say exactly that. Then maybe set up a time during orientation week after you get your classes when you can walk over to their office, meet your boss, and set up a work schedule. There are many kids do not register until orientation–every artsci kid who didn’t do a weekend over summer–so it shouldn’t be a huge inconvenience for whatever department you were assigned to.</p>
