One of the places I work at is a special needs preschool. Mainly female employees of all ages.

The parent organization used to have bagel breakfasts, put treats on mailboxes, etc. now and then. Now we are on our own. We’d like to do things for staff and need funds for it.

Ideas have been “secret pal” - like a secret santa but lasts a month. Do nice things for your “pal” and in the end the "pal buys something for their secret pal when we all meet and reveal ourselves.

Gift sale- We all contribute things we no longer use (ie, a pair of earrings or gifts we never used) and we sell them… Money raised will be used for the bagel breakfasts or candy to be left in mailboxes, etc…

As a special needs preschool always in need of funds, we do many sales and numerous Chinese auctions throughout the year.

Any fun activities to do?
Any good ways to raise revenue for this committee to use for staff?

I work in a public school. We have a pot luck breakfast once a month. People bring the stuff…and we alternate the “easy and inexpensive…like juice and paper plates” with the “more difficult and costly…like bagels, making a quiche or strata”.

contact your local convention center or performing arts center and other large entertainment venues, sports arenas, etc… you and others may be able to work as a volunteer group in the concession stands or ushering for events, working events, etc. the money earned goes to the group…your preschool. it’s a wonderful way to raise money and not have to sell anything. attending the events is often fun too.

Is there a local business/organization that would “sponsor” you and do a “jeans day Friday” - you know, the business workers pay $1 or something for the chance to wear jeans and then they could donate the $$$$ to your group?? Perhaps one of the parents of the children in the preschool would work for a business that would do this for you…

A business with even 50 workers each paying $1 or $2 or even $5 (if you’re brave to ask for it) could net some quick cash.
