Hello all, I am currently a chemistry undergrad student and I am planning on getting a PhD in materials science and engineering. I am wondering if I will have a good chance of getting a job in a space systems company after college? I know there are more jobs in this field for mechanical and software engineers but I really love chemistry. I have began teaching myself python and currently work in a materials science lab researching lithium ion battery anodes. I work at a fairly prestigious lab but I am concerned that this might not be the best experience for me to get a job in the space industry. I feel as if I wont have the engineering skills necessary as I have not taken any engineering related classes because I am a chemistry undergrad (for some reason my school doesnt offer materials engineering as an undergrad degree.
Thanks for the answer in advance!
