<p>I don’t think I’m allowed to read yours as I’m applying to UChicago this year too (it’s not like I’d plagiarize, but it’d look like a serious conflict of interest anyway). But I can recommend Harry Bauld’s book about writing college essays–I found it when I saw it recommended by an admitted student. There’s also the “Post Your Essay!” forum, which is awesome. I know this doesn’t help much but I could probably read it after the ea deadline, since my app will already be submitted by then</p>
