how about the workload in general for students in ERC?

Your workload will depend on which particular classes you take which will depend mostly on your major.

I talked to a girl on admit day about this and she said it really depends on what profs you get BUT they seem to go easier on you first quarter.

i’m a sociology major, so i’m assuming there’ll be a lot of essay-writing :/

how are the MMWs and other GE requirements?

Again, it’ll depend on the classes which will depend somewhat on the major. It’ll also depend on the class load you take (4 classes per quarter, 3, 5) and the combo of the classes - whether you’re combining multiple ‘heavy workload’ classes or not. It’s sometimes difficult to know how heavy of a workload a particular class has until you’re in it or know someone who’s in it but after you’re there you’ll start to get the drift. You’ll have a fair amount of say in your actual workload depending on how you schedule yourself.

I don’t think sociology is typically considered a heavy workload major as opposed to engineering or some others.
