Workload in Columbia?

To current Columbia students: how much work do you get normally per day? And are the weekends pretty free or are they filled with work? I wanna decide whether or not I should get a single dorm or a double, and this’ll help. Thanks!

I think the amount of time you put into school work depends on your major and whether or not you want to get straight A’s. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I’m not sure how much work you can expect to have is a major factor in single vs. double. You should expect to have a fair amount of studying and have a fair amount of fun, and single vs. double should be based on things like whether you want to study in your room or in the library, whether you want privacy, whether you want a more social situation and a roommate experience, etc.

She’s probably thinking that a double would mean more distractions from studying.

just go for what you want. if a double does indeed mean distractions, and you havnt yet learned where to study, you will get a bad grade on a midterm and then you learn (or not) you need to lessen the distractions by getting out of the room
