Workout Clothes from Weight Loss for Dummies

Victoria’s Secret makes a double layered sports bra that really works well for me. The inner layer has a clip closure similar to many front closing bras, and the outer layer has a zip closure that has never come undone. Very good support without the uniboob effect. Bra sizing up to DDD cup. Lots of colors and patterns.

Thank you for all the ideas. I had not thought to check Victoria Secret. @TatinG I saw an interesting Natori on the Nordstrom website- I definitely want to try a Natori since my favorite everyday bra is the Natori feathers.
Old Navy only has pullover styles online. No Walmart in my area.
My zipper front Moving comfort I reserve for my weekly tennis game. It is white and goes well under my tennis shirts. With tennis the moving zipper isn’t as much of an issue.

Does anyone else think that our “OP’s” (the roboposter, LOL) avatar looks like a giant boob with eyes?

Nah, looks like cousin of Pac-Man.

I have looked forever for front closure sports bras with racer back and had a hard time finding any. I just won’t buy any that are back closure anymore. The couple I tried from HerRoom were too high cut for my taste. I did buy a couple of the new ones VS makes that are two layers, and they are acceptable, although I did have to exchange one when I couldn’t get the zipper up, even when I wasn’t wearing it. I also splurged and got a couple of the new Athleta front closure bras. They aren’t exactly racer back, but have enough style that I’m OK wearing them with my Chi tops. I’m pretty impressed with them. Every time Athleta would send me a survey about new products, etc., I’d ALWAYS add, “PLEASE make a front closure sports bra.” They finally did.

^^Can you provide a link to the one you’re talking about at Athleta @teriwtt ?

yup… here it is:

^ Thanks for the link. I like the way the straps look on that bra.

I have trouble finding sports bras in my size that have closures at all! I hate having to wrestle the sweaty thing off over my head. I don’t know why they even make ones without closures.

My Moving Comfort Fiona bra arrived. Very happy that it fit. I’m going to try it out this morning. What I like is that I can easily get it on. Doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a compression device. My Moving Comfort front zip has more compression. I’m not sure about the Velcro on the stamps. I’m hoping that it doesn’t irritate with a high intensity workout. Today I’m going to body sculpting and I’ll ride the bike so I don’t think I will give it a full test. It gives me a bit more shape- not a total uniboob. I am not large chested and have extremely dense breast tissue so the amount of compression I think will work for me. Not sure it is enough if you are large chested.
My D and I are going shopping Saturday about an hour away and I’m going to look at Nordstrom Rack and see if they have the Natori. My D offered to drive to Athleta but that is almost two hours each direction.

@Hanna I run everyday and never wear a sports bra with a closure. I’m on the smaller side, but I generally don’t have a problem getting the bras on and off. Occasionally I get stuck, and it’s pretty hilarious (and usually when I’m changing somewhere where it needs to be quick- like my parked car). I am a brand ambassador (small sponsorship) for Oiselle, and I am mainly wearing their bras now. I also found a pretty stretchy Canadian brand that I like called EC3D, but they can be hard to find.

After 40 years of running I guess I’ve mastered the art of crossing my arms in front, hooking my thumbs under the front edge of the bra on each side and getting it over my head.

Why do they make bras without a closure? Fewer seams and parts to rub against the skin. There are many women who really appreciate this.

@teriwtt , I just ordered that one after this thread started - some of my old bras need to retire, that one looked promising.

@zeebamom - I was very happy with the Fiona bra. Thanks for the recommendation.
I am not sure why but I have a real problem with getting the bra on and off over my head. My left arm doesn’t cooperate. I can’t straighten it out over my head nor rotate it back like the right side. I have scoliosis and my left should blade tends to rotate. I also broke that arm when I was a kid. I’m not sure what is the cause of that arm not working as well as the other. I have the same problem with tight fitting shirts.

Update
I like the Runnng Comfort Fiona bra but I love this bra https://shop.lululemon.com/p/women-sports-bras/On-Track-Bra-MD/_/prod8450102?Ntt=On%20track%20bra&gender=women&rcnt=0&cnt=106&color=LW2AC3S_027591. It is super comfortable and on sale.

@mom60, is it true to size? How supportive?

Bummer, just noticed that on line only 2 remains. I am not a 2 lol!

I find it very supportive. I bought an 8 and I wear a 36C in regular bras. I bought it at an outlet. The funny thing is that the outlet only had sizes 6,8 and 10. I got the blue color and it is pretty.

Kudos to the Australians and the Brits for recognizing the problem and doing something about it:

Fascinating stuff! If you are wondering what the hey 3 G is, imagine tripling the weight of your boobs. And your body - without tripling the strength of your skeleton or muscles. Give those girls some extra support.

Good article. ^^^^ It makes sense to me that regular jossling of the girls CAN’T be a good thing for them! Not to mention how it feels in intense exercise.

I found a Saucony bra just by chance at TJ Maxx that seems MADE for me. Now I’m on a mission to scoop up any and all I can find at any TJ I stop by! Has washed well, just molds me right. I’m sure it’s a discontinued model - tried without luck to find it online.
