Any recommendations for an easy on easy off sports bra? I have one front zip that I use for tennis but it has a tendency to unzip without advance warning. I have a Nike one that is pullover the head but has a back closure so I don’t feel like I’m putting on a strait jacket. I haven’t been able to find a similar one.I went to Ross and every exercise bra they had was a pullover style and I hate feeling like I have to fight it to get in on and off. I’m a 36c and don’t need a super lot of compression.
I wish I knew @mom60 . . .
I have several front zip and front hook bras and most withthe zipper have a little hook in the midpoint of the zipper that prevents the auto-undo issue. The ones I like best are the Danskin ones with the hard cups and front hooks but I also have another one (but cant read the brand) - maybe champion? Cant quite tell.
Thanks @jym626 - hard cups don’t work for my “shape” breast. My zip front bra is by Moving Comfort and has no hook to prevent the auto undo. I use it for tennis and it is pretty old so maybe they have corrected the problem in later additions. I’m going to look for Danskin. I was hoping to find something at Ross due to the prices.
There are lots on line.
Look online at Title Nine and Athleta.
I saw Athleta has some online. I had hoped to find something I could try on.
Kohls is having a sale on some at the moment. But I have had so many bad experiences with Kohls ( though mostly their online orders) I will not set foot in there again.
For sports bras, nothing beats HerRoom. Really. Kohls etc. have pity of a selection in the stores.
HerRoom also sells through Amazon, so Prime returns could be free.
I highly recommend Anita back closure sports bras. Very comfy (ran 2 marathons in them with zero rubbing or bounce effect). Also does not result in uniboob!
Lulu makes a bra called Tata Tamer that also has a row of 3 hooks on the back; putting it on is just like putting on a regular bra. It offers good support, comes in many colors, available in their stores, and does not create the uniboob effect.
GapBody has good bras. I’ve also gotten bras at Dicks, such as a high neck Reebok for $11
Thank you. @bookworm - my D who is a workout fanatic recommended I look at Gap.
I was really hoping to not start out ordering online but that will probably be my best option.i had also hoped to find something at Ross so I am not having to spend $50 dollars on a sports bra. If I have time this week I’m going to go downtown and check out Marshalls, Gap, Nordstrom and Lululemon. We are presently without a large sporting goods store in our area. No Kohls,Target or big chain stores within 45 minutes of here.
I wish I had an Athleta nearby but that is almost a 2 hour drive in each direction.
I live in one of the most desirable locales to visit from all over the world but we lack good shopping. I envy @BunsenBurner and @jym626 and all the great buys they find by just popping into a store.
Is there an REI nearby?
I swear by the Moving Comfort (now Brooks) Fiona for running. I’ve worn it in a couple of different sizes as weight has gone up and down and it worked well. The sizing for me runs true to my normal bra size.
Target has decent sports bras. Oops just read no target.
@zeebamom - I ordered the Moving Comfort Brooks Fiona from REI. It was on sale but they did charge for shipping. If it doesn’t fit I can return it to the local REI. I ordered my normal bra size so I’m hoping it will fit.
Zappos carries sports bras and has free shipping and free returns. Easy to order a bunch, try on at home and send back the ones that don’t work.
Lulu lemon also has free shipping and free returns, so that is easy too.
I forgot about zappos, I’ll check there next.
@MomofWildChild -Title 9 wins for best website navigation. They allow you to filter by back clasp or zipper front. Lululemon is limited on sizes for the back clasp style.
Even walmart and old navy do decent enough sports bras for a 36c. If you don’t need compression then many bras will work. Those of us that need compression are more likely to need the racer back styles.
I’m loving the Natori sports bras from Nordstom (Rack). Exact sizes, not S, M, etc.
You can put a safety pin across a zipper to keep it from coming unzipped.
